Request Account Deletion

allows you to request deletion of your account and associated personal data at any time. This page explains how to do that.

How to Request Account Deletion

  1. Option A — From within the app (if you can log in):
    • Open on your device
    • Go to ProfileSettings
    • Scroll to the Account section
    • Tap Delete account
    • Enter your password to confirm
    • Your account and data will be deleted immediately
  2. Option B — By email (if you cannot log in):
    • Send an email to
    • Use the subject line Account Deletion Request
    • Include the email address associated with your account
    • We will process your request and confirm once your account and data have been deleted (typically within 30 days)

Data We Delete

When you request account deletion, we permanently delete the following:

  • Account information — email, name, password (hashed)
  • Profile data — seafarer rank, vessel type, region, city, country
  • Study progress — sessions, answers, course progress, bookmarks
  • Gamification data — coins, EXP, level, achievements, study streaks
  • Leaderboard entries — your rankings (global, regional, city)
  • Push notification token — so you no longer receive notifications
  • Subscription and purchase records — PRO and in-app purchase history stored on our servers

Data We Keep (Anonymized or Third-Party)

The following may be retained in anonymized form or are controlled by third parties:

  • Ad impressions — anonymized (user identifier removed) for aggregated analytics
  • Audit logs — anonymized where legally required for compliance
  • Google Play purchase history — retained by Google for tax and legal purposes; we do not control this
  • Google Sign-In — your Google account is not deleted; we only remove the link between it and our app

Retention Period

Account deletion is processed immediately when you use the in-app option. For email requests, we aim to complete deletion within 30 days. Any backup copies are purged within our standard backup rotation (typically 30–90 days).
